How this estimate works

This preliminary tool estimates usable roof percentage by property type, approximately 21 watts of panel capacity per usable square foot, 1,200 kWh of annual production per installed kW, and a $0.26/kWh illustrative blended DC residential electricity value. It caps savings below the entered bill to account for fixed utility charges. A final proposal must use the customer's actual Pepco rate and usage history. Shading, roof condition, orientation, usage, final design, interconnection, and utility rates can change the result.
