A Power Purchase Agreement lets Next Gen Solar install and own the solar system on your DC roof. You pay nothing for the system. You receive the electricity it produces, at no solar charge under the agreement.

What does the '$0 PPA' actually mean?
Under a Power Purchase Agreement, Next Gen Solar installs and owns the solar system on your roof at no cost to you. You pay $0 upfront and $0 for the solar electricity under the agreement. You remain responsible for your Pepco utility charges separately, which cover distribution, connection fees, and any grid electricity your system does not offset.
Who owns the solar panels?
Under the $0 PPA, Next Gen Solar (or the project entity we work with) owns, insures, and maintains the equipment for the agreement term. The system owner also retains any incentives and Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SRECs) assigned under the contract for which it qualifies. If you prefer to own your system, we can quote a purchase or solar-loan structure. In that case, you own the panels and may be eligible for available incentives.
What happens to my Pepco bill?
You remain a Pepco customer. You continue to pay Pepco for distribution, connection charges, and any grid electricity your solar system does not offset. The solar component is $0 under the PPA. Your Pepco charges are separate and depend on your actual usage and applicable tariffs.
Does solar work in the DC area?
Yes. What matters is your specific roof, not a citywide average. We model your roof's output based on its orientation, pitch, shading, and your actual energy consumption, rather than quoting national averages, so you get a realistic picture of what your particular roof can produce.
Are there tax incentives?
Under the $0 PPA, the system owner (not the homeowner) retains any incentives and SRECs assigned under the contract for which it qualifies. Note: per current IRS guidance, the federal Residential Clean Energy Credit is not available for property placed in service after December 31, 2025. If you own your system through a purchase or loan, consult a tax professional and irs.gov about which incentives, if any, apply to your situation.
